"Magic Project": a work-in-progress

I was obsessed with Bangtan from around the Boy in Luv to the end of the Love Yourself era. Love Yourself ‘Tear’ is still one of my favourite albums (You Never Walk Alone is also up there), and when I first heard "Magic Shop", the title and the melody inspired a whole world and story in my head.

I had vivid imagery of characters and of settings for this world and story that I'm going to call the "Magic Project" from here on out. I’ve sketched, painted, and written about the "Magic Project" for years. I don’t think my skills were ever developed enough to execute this story properly, so it’s been unfinished all this time. However, now, I've learned more about my writing process and how to trust my instincts when things are or are not working in a story. I'm less precious about things when they need to be cut. So, while I take all the pieces I’ve created over the years and try to make a sense of what I want to say, there’s nostalgia for teenage/young adult me where the world was a bit easier to navigate.

I've since finished the first draft of the rewrite of the "Magic Project". I will be starting edits on the second draft sometime next week now that it's been sitting for 6 or so weeks (which according to Stephen King's On Writing is generally enough time for you to put enough space between you and your story to look at it objectively).

PS. While most of their music post the Love Yourself era didn’t interest me, and I’m not a fan of Arirang, teenage me is very excited that Bangtan is back.
